English

Today, no society in the world is immune to social damages. Given the diversity and extent of these damages, prioritizing them based on the conditions and needs of each society has become an inevitable necessity for achieving sustainable cultural and social development. The present study was conducted with the aim of identifying and prioritizing social damages in Lorestan province. In the present study, a qualitative method with a Delphi technique approach was used to identify and prioritize social issues in Lorestan province. The statistical sample of the study included 30 key informants in the field of social issues who were selected using the snowball sampling method. Data were collected through Delphi questionnaires and analyzed and prioritized using qualitative analysis methods such as content analysis and expert consensus. Based on the research findings, 10 priority social issues in Lorestan province have been identified in the following order: 1. Poverty, 2. Widespread unemployment, 3. Drug addiction, 4. Inflation and decline in people's purchasing power, 5. Suicide, 6. Administrative corruption, 7. Low social tolerance, 8. Feeling of discrimination and injustice, 9. Increasing number of women heads of households, and 10. Individual and collective conflicts. The research results show that social issues have not only intensified due to structural and economic weaknesses in Lorestan province, but also cultural, social and political issues, especially the inefficiency of the administrative system, have added to the complexity of these issues, which will face more serious challenges to the underdevelopment of society.
