Dramatic School: An Analysis of the Iranian School Situation (Metasynthesis of Critical School Studies)

Abstract
In recent years, the field of social science studies has become more serious about the issue of school, and a series of critical studies on school have been published in various journals. Therefore, the main purpose of writing this article is to review and examine the findings of critical studies on school using the meta-synthesis method in order to achieve new results that are appropriate for Iranian society. Accordingly, from among the articles reviewed since 1981, based on the determined criteria, 21 article titles were finally selected, and after re-reviews and coding using MaXqda software, 155 main codes were extracted from the determined studies. After going through the scientific process and combining concepts, 13 main categories were identified and finally summarized in 5 concept titles. The findings of this study show that the structure of all the results of critical school studies is based on 5 axes, which, based on frequency, include school indecisiveness with 41 codes, controlling and silent schools with 37 codes, discursive confrontation with 33 codes, school overeducation with 24 codes, and school instrumentality among power with 20 codes. Overall, this indicates a situation in which the school, in proportion to Iranian society, suffers from a lack of identity and a lack of a precise strategy to overcome this situation, and therefore, in order to preserve itself, it exhibits things in line with the continuation of its situation.
