The Role of Knowledge-Based Companies in Economic Development

Abstract
The aim of this research is to understand the role of knowledge-based companies in Iran's economic development. In the current era, the production and export of knowledge-based industries is recognized as an important factor in the economic growth and development of countries, so that there has been increasing competition between countries to achieve a higher share of the production and export of this type of products. The importance of this issue has led to the economic development of knowledge-based industries being considered as one of the most important priorities of government officials. The research method is qualitative and grounded theory (Strauss and Corbin). This research is an applied research type because it is carried out with the aim of practical application of knowledge and application of the results of the findings to answer the questions raised in knowledge-based companies located in the Pardis Technology Park. For this purpose, through purposeful sampling, information from 20 managers, vice presidents, officials, and experts of knowledge-based companies located in Pardis Technology Park was collected and analyzed through semi-structured interviews, and a paradigmatic model of recognizing the role of knowledge-based companies in Iran's economic development was designed. The research findings show that the use of knowledge-based companies can improve good governance in the economic development sector, improve and facilitate economic development methods, reduce the time spent on economic development, create synergy in processes, and develop new technologies.
