Abstract
This research aims to investigate the views of the founder of the Islamic Republic on "hijab". The main question raised in this research is: What is hijab from Imam Khomeini's perspective, and what are its consequences? To answer this question, using the perspective of cultural change and the evolutionary approach to culture, and employing a descriptive thematic analysis method, we seek to examine the remaining texts of Imam Khomeini on this central theme. The results of this study show that, on the one hand, his viewpoint is based on the idea that the opposition to hijab is a one-sided transfer in the realm of cultural evolution between the West and Iran during the Pahlavi era; in a way that both the monarchy and its Western supporters coercively tried and are trying to eliminate it. On the other hand, another theme is based on the freedom of choice in the realm of cultural transformation, where the hijab-wearing woman is active both in the Constitutional Revolution, the Islamic Revolution, and during the war.
