Investigating the Relationship between the Quality of Work Life and Self-Knowledge on Teachers' Work Motivation (Study Case: Army Organizational Unit Based in Tehran)

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between the quality of work life and self-knowledge on teachers' work motivation. This research was carried out in a descriptive-correlational way and the statistical population of the research was the teachers of the elementary level of the army organizational unit in Tehran, which according to the statistics from the Department of Education, the number of school teachers was reported to be 180. Using the sampling method of Cochran's formula, the sample size was 123 people and was selected by simple random. Cronbach's alpha test was used for reliability and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient for work motivation, quality of work life and self-knowledge is 0.878, 0.821 and 0.763 respectively. In order to test the hypotheses, Pearson's correlation and regression analysis were used through Spss software. The results of the research showed that there is a significant positive relationship between the quality of work life and self-awareness with the job motivation of elementary school teachers of the army organizational unit in Tehran. Also, the value of Pearson's correlation coefficient between the two mentioned variables (quality of working life and self-knowledge) is equal to 0.88, and according to the significance level of 0.000, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the two variables.
