Abstract
Today, one of the issues affecting the health of society and producing destructive and irreparable consequences is the prevalence of psychological disorders, particularly among women. Women continuously experience various crises and pressures in their lives, which can disrupt their psychological balance and, ultimately, challenge the stability of the family. In this context, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between the tendency toward divorce and psychological disorders among married women in the city of Qazvin. The research employed a survey method, and the statistical population included all married women in Qazvin. The sample size was determined using Cochran's formula and selected through stratified random sampling, consisting of 395 participants. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software. The results indicated that all components of the tendency toward divorce, including the inclination to take practical action, positive attitude toward divorce, psychological acceptance of divorce, realistic assessment of divorce, and tendency to seek alternatives, had a significant and positive relationship with psychological disorders at the 0.01 and 0.05 levels. Moreover, the variables included in the regression model explained 34.8% of the variance in the dependent variable, psychological disorders. Overall, the findings suggest that an increase in the tendency toward divorce and its related components can exacerbate psychological disorders among married women and indicate that uncertain and conflict marital relationships play a significant role in undermining women’s mental health.
