Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy

Journal of Social Development uses double-blind peer review to review manuscripts, so the reviewers do not know the author's identity or vice versa.

Peer Review Process

Editor-in-Chief's Review

The manuscript is sent to the Editor-in-Chief for evaluation of its relevance and alignment with the journal's scope and reviewer selection.

  • If the Editor-in-Chief's decision is adverse, the manuscript is presented at the editorial meeting for a final determination, and a rejection will be issued.
  • If the Editor-in-Chief's decision on the matters above is favorable, the manuscript will proceed to the next stage (peer review).

Peer Reviewe

If the manuscript adheres to the journal's formatting requirements and aligns with its scope, it is sent to two reviewers simultaneously.

Revision
  1. If both reviews are positive, the author can make the necessary revisions based on the reviewers' feedback.
  2. If one review is positive and one is negative, the author cannot revise, and the manuscript is forwarded to a third reviewer for further evaluation.
  3. If both reviews are negative, the manuscript is discussed at the editorial meeting to determine its status. If the editorial board approves the reviewers' comments, a rejection letter will be issued

Receiving Revisions and Sending to Final Reviewer

  1. Once the revisions have been completed and the manuscript complies with the required changes, it is sent to one of the previous reviewers for a final check on the corrections.
  2. If the final reviewer approves the revisions, the manuscript will be presented at the editorial meeting for approval and acceptance.

Acceptance

After revising the article based on the reviewer's comments or providing sufficient reasons for not needing revisions and paying the admission and publication fee, the article will be put in the publication queue, and a written letter about the final acceptance and publication of the article will be sent to the author.

Publication

Once the article has been typeset and edited, it is sent to the corresponding author for a final review before publication. The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all details are accurate and approving the article for publication.

Note

All correspondence is directed to the corresponding author. All follow-ups regarding review outcomes, editing, acceptance, and publication are managed exclusively by the corresponding author.
