Socio-cultural functions of Muharram mourning rituals from the perspective of Azeri and Lor tribes living in Tehran

Abstract

The mourning of the Azeri and lore ethnicities with common sociological features has socio-cultural functions. therefore; This article has been researched with the aim of identifying the socio-cultural functions of Muharram mourning of these two peoples. What are the similarities and differences between the mourning rituals of Muharram of the Iranian tribes (Azeri and lore) and what are their functional commonalities? The most important question that has been researched is the construction of a combination of theoretical approach. Orientalism and functionalism have been used and the research method is qualitative. The statistical population is the religious delegations of Azeri and lore ethnic groups living in Tehran and the activists of mourning delegations so that 20 people (10 lore ethnic and 10 Azeri ethnic group) The content was selected by qualitative interview method and the data were analyzed by content analysis. In response to the question - What are the similarities (participation, interaction, solidarity and sympathy) of Muharram mourning rituals of Iranian Azeri and lore tribes? The mourning methods and practices of the mentioned tribes show that they have a social dimension and form and there is public participation and full solidarity in the behaviors of the participants and such behaviors create common actions that over time take it out of individuality. It has given a collective form and shape, and its predominant similarity is the synchronicity and smell of the religions. Methods, religious beliefs)
