The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting social participation of Ahwaz citizens. The statistical population in this study includes 18-60 years old and multi-stage or integrated sampling method. Survey method and questionnaire were used to collect data. Statistical results showed that in general, women's social participation was higher than men. There is a positive and significant relationship between the independent variables of religiosity, social trust, social belonging and socio-economic status and contextual variables (age, gender, marital status) with the dependent variable of social participation, but there was a significant inverse relationship between feelings of powerlessness and participation. There was no significant difference between the social participation of married people, single people and age group. Therefore, there was no relationship between gender and age with the social participation of citizens.
