A meta-analysis of women's empowerment studies of marginalized households

Review:
This study aimed to identify the intervening dimensions, components, and indicators of women's empowerment. The study population consisted of researches carried out between 2003-2009 and obtained through searching the two databases of Jihad-e-Academic Information Center and Comprehensive Humanities Portal. From 144 articles extracted, 22 articles related to the statistical population were selected and evaluated by qualitative meta-analysis. The results showed that women's empowerment in the psychological dimension consisted of 6 components (meaningfulness, self-efficacy, self-esteem, ability and self-efficacy, self-determination, self-efficacy) and social-cultural-educational empowerment including 10 components such as social participation, collectivism, Awareness, trust, norm, education, knowledge, attitude, skills, and family empowerment focus on two general concepts of relative financial independence and prosperity. Finally, the researcher has proposed a conceptual model based on the importance of empowerment dimensions in the studies.
